FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Is skin needling painful?

More commonly than not, our patients find the micro skin needling quite relaxing and a breeze compared to our other needling device. As we are only puncturing the skin creating micro channels in the skin, the needle penetration is quite superficial. The only time you may feel a sting is when we are on the nose or the forehead area.

What is the downtime of micro needling?

The recovery time for micro needling is quite fast. You may look slightly red for a couple hours after your treatment, however, with the finishing protocols that we use for your treatment, you will come out of your treatment radiant and looking fresher. Recommend you do not go to the gym, saunas or swimming pools until three days after the treatment.

How far apart can I have this procedure?

We recommend fortnightly treatments for you to optimise effective results, depending on the treatment zone and the treatment aims.

CIT NEEDLING

Skin Concerns: Acne Scars / Ageing / Uneven Texture / Stretch Marks / Pigmentation

Skin needling is a treatment that promotes natural collagen reproduction, also referred to as collagen induction therapy and scar less healing. This minimally invasive skin treatments improves skin tone, soften wrinkles, and smoothens scars. The device uses micro needles to create micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis of the skin to encourage the body’s ability to repair itself. Damaged tissue is replaced with fresh collagen deposition to reduce the appearance of indentations and uneven skin texture.

The medical grade micro-needles are non-traumatic, cone shaped needles that displace the skin during the puncture process, creating a micro-wound that seals within minutes of treatment. These precision manufactured needles reduce the occurrence of undesirable micro-needling side effects such as bruising, swelling and significant downtime.

SKIN NEEDLING TREATMENTS BENEFITS:

  • Increase in your skins own natural collagen
  • Reduce scarring
  • Minimise fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduce pore size
  • Improve skin texture
  • Reduce pigmentation
  • Firmer, tighter skin
  • Improve cellular communication
  • Promotes skin rejuvenation
  • Volumise complexions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What is the downtime of skin needling?

You may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. It is recommended to use the correct homecare for the first 3-5 days post treatment to prevent skin irritations and a faster healing process.

Why do I need to use aftercare products?

After care products are an integral part of the needling treatment as this is the time our skin needs support and nourishment the most. It is recommended that you use very gentle products for at least 5 days as active ingredients cause irriration and discomfort in the first 48 hours while the skin is in its inflammation phase.

What are the possible side effects of the treatment?

Like all cosmetic procedures, there are side effects to be considered. Redness and slight discomfort are expected immediately after the treatment. In some cases, swelling and bruising may occur temporarily.

How long should it take before I see results?

Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will become visible after 3 to 6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). The condition of your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments, especially when combined with the recommended post treatment care.

Does skin needling hurt?

Whilst everyone’s tolerance for pain is different, in essence, no! this is not what you might imagine when you read about needles piercing the skins surface at a high speed. The precision of our CIT device means that your treatments are comfortable plus your skin therapist can adjust the depth of the treatment to further support your comfort and of course ensure best results at all times.

How does needling differ from fractional RF?

Skin needling delivers tiny micro injuries via needles at precise depths to kick start and renew collagen growth. Fractional RF is a similar, but a different treatment that utilised both needles to puncture the skin as well as radiofrequency to create heat in the deeper layers of the skin. Fractional RF is generally more of an uncomfortable treatment vs. traditional micro needling, although maybe more suited to those that have concerns with sagging skin. While both treatments will improve texture, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, traditional skin needling is better suited to all skin types including darker skins with less risk of post inflammatory hyper pigmentation.
